Local Ipswich Man is accused of 5 burglary offences on same day in adjoining Ipswich streets proving that many people don;t have the basic security requirements in their homes
What Happened?
Marley Wagner, of no fixed address but local to Ipswich, appeared before Suffolk Magistrates on Tues 21st January accused of 5 separate burglaries.
Wagner has been charged with burglary and theft from addresses Paget Road and Graham Avenue; burglary with intent to steal from an address in Valley Road; attempted burglary with intent to steal from an address in Graham Road, and with aggravated burglary at another Valley Road address, where he is also accused of aggravated vehicle taking.
All of the offences, as well as another charge of possessing 0.7g of cannabis, are alleged to have happened on Friday, January 17.
Prosecutor Wayne Ablett said the charges related to a “string of burglaries in a similar location”.
Wagner was remanded in custody to appear for a plea hearing at Ipswich Crown Court on February 18.
Why Such a Crime Spree In a Single Area
Criminals know that police response time during the day especially can be slow due to workload, traffic and other things so the daytime is an excellent time to break into homes knowing this fact and that most people are a work.
Breaking into houses in the same location increases the thieve’s bounty but does not add a great deal of time.
Homes where probably chosen based on their lack of visible and actually security and the thief would have probably walked by homes with visible CCTV cameras and visible Burglar Alarms meaning that these items are still the best deterrent..
